Edit Me 2012 Week 7

Posted: February 16, 2012 in Uncategorized

This weeks challenge has been provided by Rosie at http://www.leavesnbloomphotography.blogspot.com.au/. She has provided a photograph of a Scottish Castle with Sheep huddled up against the wall.  First I cropped the image to eliminate some of the foreground.

Original Photograph

First I cropped the image to eliminate some of the foreground. I was concerned about the darkness of the image, so I ran it through RAW.   The I used several of my favourite filters in Topaz Lab, first was Adjust5 and HDR and the second was the Lens Effect Filter, I added just a small band of ”Ground Fog”  at the base of the photograph.

First Edit

I was then curious as how this image would look in Black and White.  I used Topaz Lab Black and White Opalotype filter and brought back some colour.

Second Edit

It is had to say which one I like I think the second edit creates a mood of isolation, while the first is warm.

Please visit other participants by clicking on button in right hand sidebar. Just like to say,I try to visit other edits, but sometimes my Google account will not let me leave a message.

Cheers

I like both of them, although I do adore the tones in that first edit.

They are both beautiful! The first one is my favorite! :)

  3. Linda says:

I like both edits but especially how cold the second one looks, it adds atmosphere.
Love how one image can have two different looks just by a temperature change.

I love the colors in the first edit, and how it kept the detail in the sky! Lovely work!

  9. Hehee I’ve all of the topaz plugins and I love using them on my photos and I love using the opalotype adjusted. My favourite is your first edit and the warm and brightness you’ve brought to my point and shoot image.
